Hola mi gente. My apologies for not having posted in awhile. My page on Facebook (Newyoricangirl News & Views) has thousands of followers and it’s where I spend most of my blogging time. Please consider hanging out with us over there where we are constantly talking about all things Puerto Rican.
These are VERY challenging times for our island and for many American citizens living there. I’m so concerned that I’m traveling to Puerto Rico in August. I intend to do A LOT of investigative reporting while there. I’ll be posting live-time reports on my Facebook page, Instagram and Twitter (@newyoricangirl) and I hope you’ll sign up for alerts.
In the mean time, I’m humbled and honored to have been interviewed for a collaborative program sponsored by WIPR (the PBS station in Puerto Rico) and the Center for Puerto Rican Studies at Hunter College. Many thanks to the awesome production team (led by Executive Producer, Eduardo Aguiar) for dedicating so much time in interviewing me (above). What an honor it is to be featured as a Boricua Author, Journalist and passionate advocate for Puerto Rico.
These difficult times demand that we are especially loud and proud in demanding that Congress step up to assist Puerto Rico. It is clearly evident that the colonial and archaic rule over Borinquen must end – lest our American democracy be further tarnished on their watch.  NEWYORICANGIRL
